Bloodhounds have the most soulful eyes so I wanted to really focus in on him reacting to a kitten purring in his ear. Snuggles is painted on Arches 140 lb cold pressed paper using professional quality watercolor paints.
About Diane DeSavoy
One Christmas, when I was a young child, I was given a paint by numbers kit. I promptly discarded the instructions and painted my first oil of a horse on a windswept hill. My love of art was born. Decades later, I was introduced to the magic of watercolor. I love their transparency and how the amount of water can transform the pigment from subtle to bold and as you can see, I do love my bold colors. Finally, I will usually add a touch of whimsy.
